Natrium Redox Technologies Limited has expanded its working relationship with Cheshire-based engineering specialist DOCAN to conduct further Basis of Design work for the five raw material pathways to which the Natrium Redox™ process can be applied. Following meetings held in July in the UK, a broad collaboration agreement has been reached that extends into Front End Engineering and Design as projects develop.
DOCAN is a globally regarded multi-disciplinary engineering and process systems consultancy with experience across mechanical, process, structural and control projects. Natrium Redox and DOCAN first signed contracts in 2025 to develop outline technical specifications for a demonstration facility.
The Natrium Redox™ process uses sodium to strip oxygen from iron and manganese ores to produce high-purity iron and manganese metals. The process can also manufacture a range of critical minerals and lime, all at lower cost and energy intensity than any process in the market, with zero process CO₂. With the chemistry proven and many of the components commercially available off the shelf at scale, DOCAN is supporting Natrium Redox to design the limited number of specialty components and combine each stage of the process into an integrated facility.
